Most of the time it is important for us to collaborate with your regular therapist when prescribing the types of equipment that we work with. This is because while we know the equipment they know you as well as your needs and goals.

It’s also important because your regular therapist is also the person who will need to justify the purchase and suitability of these items to funding bodies

If it’s a smaller or replacement item – such as a new cushion – then yes, we can usually send you a quote for that if you already know what it is you need.

We do! In fact, we work extremely closely with therapists at more than 70 different organisations across Perth and regional WA.

We’ve spent years specialising in seating and mobility needs (and live and breathe it every day since establishing Motum) so we see it as our duty to add value to therapist colleagues in whatever way we can – this might just be a steer in the right direction product wise, or undertaking all of the appointments needed to prescribe, fit and adjust an item to ensure it is perfect for a client.

We can and we do, it just depends what it is. Due to limited capacity in our workshop as well as access to parts, our policy is that we only work on equipment sold by Motum. Get in touch and give us a brief run-down of the issues you are having and we’ll see how we can help.

Yes we are.

We’ve got a huge number of demo models and, where we can (because a lot of our products are highly customised) and once you have been referred to us we will schedule a trial appointment. 

We typically do not support extended, or overnight trials. Due to the nature of the equipment we script trials involve supervised used. That said, there are a few items, such as alternative seating, where this might be an option, but it will attract a small fee.

The majority of our products need to be prescribed, fitted or adjusted (often all three!) by experts so we’ve taken a decision not to sell anything online.

The Motum team works with clients and therapists right across Western Australia, from Broome and Kununurra in the north to Albany and Esperance in the south. As of 2025, we also have clinic rooms in Bunbury. 

We can supply certain products outside of Western Australia. If you’re in Australia and interested in finding out more about products by fantastic brands including SORG, and Josi don’t hesitate to get in touch.

It depends on which item you are interested in! We’re an Australian distributor for several brands (including Josi and SORG). Some other brands may have dealers closer to you. If in doubt, please feel free to contact us.

We sell a huge variety of wheelchairs – manual and power options – and almost every script is different, because they are customised to the user.

For that reason, it’s impossible for us to put meaningful prices on our website.

As a guide, our manual wheelchairs typically range from around $6,000 to $20,000. Our powered wheelchair options typically start from around $20,000, and final pricing will vary depending on the make and model of PWC base as well as the seating and types of controls needed.

Sometimes. This is something that needs to be considered and discussed on a case-to-case basis.

Trials and scripting appointments for new equipment are free of charge.
